Casa Grande

2-part installation, 1987
in collaboration with Eberhard Kraemer

Part 1: Galerie Vayhinger, Möggingen [Radolfzell] (DE)
Concrete bowls, water, loudspeakers, rope

Part 2: Haus am Waldsee, Berlin (DE)
Wood, tent, light, loudspeaker

In these installations the presumed stability of houses gets eliminated in two different ways. In part 1 the shape of a house is made with ropes hanging down from the ceiling carrying 4 loudspeakers at their particular ends. The extended membranes of the loudspeakers touch the surfaces of the water in the bowls and move them analogeous to the audio. This house is standing on a vibrating water surface.
In part 2 a tent is mounted between the tips of 4 wooden masts. Obviously there are people in the tent, since there is alight inside and one can hear the sounds of working. No contact to a stable ground here as well.
