Installation, [steel shelf, loudspeaker, MPEG-player] Museum for Samtidskonst, Roskilde (DK)
A freestanding shelf with 5 layers, made of heavy 15 mm steel sheets carries 32 loudspeakers. Each speaker is wired sparately and connected to a black box with 1 input and 32 outputs. The sound are mono recordings of daily life noises fed into the black box, which contains a ultra-fast roulette connecting the input randomly to any of the 32 outputs/loudspeakers. Sounds are jumping up and down and along the shelf at very high speed and it is no longer possible to recognize the origin of the sounds, they become abstract.
