This permanent installation covers the glass facade of the new headquarters of the electric power supplier eins - energy in sachsen in Chemnitz (DE).
Approx. 800 m of LED strips frame the 64 windows and each section is separately accessed, which allows to create patterns and movements over the facade. The LED can light in cold and warm whites.
Light and electricity are almost synonyms in our daily life, so it was clear from the beginning, that light should play a main role in the installation. The English title lights light directs to the trivial aspect that lights are lighting up the space, but only since electricity is used has light become to permanently available. The second meaning is about the weight of the impression, it was important for the artist to create an image, that is not heavy but rather light, playful and allows many interpretations by the audience.
