The installation is using the river in two ways, as a stage and as a mirror. The huge internally lit question mark was installed on the riverside front of the Cammell Lairds Warft on the Birkenhead riverbank. This sign was visible from almost everywhere on the Liverpool riverbank and became a landmark for the Liverpool Biennial and an anticipation for the 2008 cultural capitol.
The simple fact of a questionmark in that scale triggered discussions, since purely with its dimensions it puts everything in question.
