Pier 32 on the lower westside of Manhattan was the site for the installation. After a preparation period of more then 8 years it was finally possible to realize the project through the funding of Goethe House New York.
Nine 5 meter high and 2 by 2 meter wide towers were standing along the 300 m long pier.

A loudspeaker was mounted into each of the towers. The sides were color painted and lit in the same color at night. The sounds moved at high speed from tower to tower along the pier. The audience was standing on the newly built Pier 120 meter north of Pier 32. The work was to be seen from many places in Manhattan.
